Renewable Solid Fuel — Gujarat

BBI's biomass briquettes and pellets are solid fuels made from agricultural residue. They replace fossil coal in industrial heating across Gujarat and India. India's National Biofuel Policy 2018 covers liquid and gaseous biofuels, not solid pellets or briquettes.

Pan-India Biomass Supply

We supply industrial biomass fuel from Kadi to buyers in Gujarat and neighbouring states, including Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, with a 25 MT minimum order.

Pellets for Power-Plant Blending

The Ministry of Power's policy of 7 November 2025 asks coal-based power plants to blend 5% biomass pellets by weight from FY 2025-26 (NCR plants 5% plus an additional 2%). The obligation is on the plant, which sets its own fuel specification; our pellets are suitable for blending, and a batch lab report is available on request.

A Solid Alternative to Coal

Biomass pellets are compressed cylindrical fuel units made from agricultural waste, wood residues, and crop by-products. BBI pellets have a GCV of 3800–4200 Kcal/kg and ash below 10%. Biomass co-firing means blending biomass pellets with coal in thermal power plants. The Ministry of Power's policy of 7 November 2025 requires coal-based plants to use a 5% biomass blend by weight from FY 2025-26 (with an additional 2% for plants in the NCR). The obligation is on the power plants, so a pellet supplier has no compliance status. BBI pellets can be offered to power plants against their own fuel specification; request our batch lab report.
Biomass pellets are a solid fuel made from agro-residue. India's National Policy on Biofuels 2018 covers bioethanol, biodiesel and advanced biofuels such as 2G ethanol, drop-in fuels and bio-CNG; it does not define solid pellets or briquettes as a biofuel class, so we do not claim classification or compliance under it. BBI's product specification is confirmed by the batch lab report on request.
Compare cost per million Kcal using your own delivered prices and lab data. Indian coal ash is generally 25 to 45% (Ministry of Coal), against 2–8% typical for BBI briquettes. Higher-grade coal needs less fuel by weight, for example about 1.26 t of white coal at 4000 Kcal/kg per tonne of G-8 coal, so it is not a one-for-one replacement. Boiler adjustments may be needed; test a 25 MT lot first.
As of October 2026, biomass briquettes and solid bio-fuel pellets are listed at 5% GST (Notification 9/2025-Central Tax (Rate), Schedule I, S.No. 516), and coal is at 18%. Rates can change, so confirm on the CBIC GST rate schedule or with your tax advisor.
