What are biomass briquettes?
Biomass briquettes are large-diameter (90mm) compressed fuel blocks made from agricultural residues such as cotton stalks, groundnut shells, sawdust, and mustard husk. Unlike pellets, briquettes are designed for furnaces and kilns that accept larger-sized fuel. They offer 3800–4200 Kcal/kg GCV with less than 4% ash, making them an economical coal replacement for industries that don't require the precision of pellets. Bharat Bio Industries manufactures briquettes at our Bakrol, Ahmedabad facility.

Briquettes vs Pellets — When to Choose What?
Briquettes are ideal when your furnace accepts larger fuel pieces and doesn't require automated pellet feeding systems. They burn longer per unit, are easier to handle manually, and cost less per kg. However, for automated boiler systems and co-firing applications, pellets are the preferred choice due to their uniform size and higher GCV.
