After speaking with hundreds of plant managers across Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh, certain questions come up again and again before they commit to their first biomass pellet order. Here are the honest answers to the 10 most common concerns.

Q1: Will I need to modify my boiler?

For most boilers: No. Fixed-grate and step-grate coal stoker boilers can switch to biomass pellets with no structural modifications. You may need to adjust the fuel feed rate by 5–10% and re-calibrate your primary/secondary air dampers. BBI's technical team provides on-site commissioning support at no extra cost.

Q2: What is the minimum order quantity?

BBI accepts orders from 10 MT for trial supply. Standard bulk contracts begin at 50 MT per month. For annual supply contracts above 200 MT/month, we offer dedicated supply slots with price lock-in.

Q3: How do you guarantee consistent quality batch after batch?

Every production batch is tested by our in-house laboratory and by NABL-accredited third-party labs for GCV, moisture, ash, sulphur, and bulk density. We provide a batch-level Certificate of Analysis (COA) with every delivery. You can also request a representative sample before confirming your order.

Q4: What happens during the monsoon season? Can you still supply?

Yes. BBI maintains 60–90 days of strategic raw material inventory in covered, moisture-controlled storage facilities. We procure agro-waste during the harvest season (October–February) and warehouse it for year-round production. Our supply schedule is not disrupted by monsoon.

Q5: How much can I actually save compared to my current coal cost?

The typical net savings range from 15% to 30% on a heat-cost basis (cost per million Kcal). The exact figure depends on your current coal grade and price, your boiler efficiency, and your monthly volume. Use our online ROI calculator for an estimate, or request a detailed fuel cost analysis from our team.

Q6: Is there any government penalty for switching away from coal?

No — quite the opposite. The government is actively incentivising industries to switch away from coal through the Ministry of Power's SAMARTH Mission and MNRE biomass policies. There are no penalties for reducing coal usage. For power plants, using biomass is mandated by regulation.

Q7: What payment and credit terms do you offer?

Standard payment terms are 50% advance + 50% on delivery for first-time customers. Established customers on annual contracts are offered 30-day credit. We accept NEFT, RTGS, and cheque payments.

Q8: How long does delivery take after placing an order?

For customers within Gujarat (Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Morbi), delivery is typically within 3–5 business days. For other states (Maharashtra, Rajasthan, MP), allow 5–8 business days depending on logistics availability.

Q9: What if the first batch doesn't meet our quality specifications?

BBI stands behind every batch with a quality guarantee. If any delivery fails to meet the specified GCV, ash, or moisture levels as per the COA, we will replace the batch or issue a full credit note — no questions asked.

Q10: How do we get started?
